Description: There has been significant interest from the SIG3 Community on the topic of mentoring. In response, the SIG3 Professional Development Committee along with the Coordinating Committee is developing a virtual discussion series on this topic. To kick off the series, this session entitled Building Relationships: A Framework for Mentorship, presented by Deedee Moxley, will help set the stage through didactic lecture on a framework for the mentee and mentor, relevant evidence related to mentorship, and lessons learned from developing a mentorship program. As Associate Director, Multicultural Practices for ASHA and a leader in developing the ASHA S.T.E.P. (Student to Empowered Professional) Mentoring Program, Ms. Moxley offers a unique and valuable perspective on this topic. Attendees will leave this session with a greater understanding of mentor and mentee roles and responsibilities, and how to optimize this relationship and support the growth of our field. This is a free live discussion. It is not eligible for ASHA CEUs.
