Description: The Communication Disorders and Sciences Program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is celebrating World Voice Day (WVD). On Monday, April 17, the students involved in the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) will be active in encouraging other university students to partake in protective voice behaviors, such as avoiding throat clearing and excessive coughing. The students will pass out water bottles to inspire others to stay hydrated throughout the day. Each water bottle has a new wrapper to enforce the recognition of World Voice Day. Students will also have various signs, posters, and handouts that promote World Voice Day, in addition to proudly wearing WVD apparel.
